ABOUT ME

RORY BELFIELD

Rory Belfield

Seeking support through counselling is a big first step to take and I can be there to help and support you with this.

I use a warm and empathic approach as an integrative therapist combining different elements of therapy to create a safe and confidential space from which you can explore any issue that may be concerning you.

Building on the foundation of this will help us to explore what you are seeking help with and to hopefully assist better understanding of the issue that you are bringing. I believe that you are the expert and have the answers and solutions to your issues.

“As no one else can know how we perceive, we are the best experts on ourselves.”

Rogers

As well as working with clients who have experienced depression, anxiety or abuse, I also have knowledge of working with individuals who have low self-esteem and low self-confidence. Other areas of knowledge are addiction and family issues.

I have a lot of experience of working with individuals who are living with dementia and the impact this has on them as well as their partner and family. Issues of loss and bereavement are common and making the decision to move into a care home is a big one.

I also have experience of managing a team and the stresses that this can bring as well as other workplace issues when working with colleagues and clients. I understand the issues and pressures of being in a managerial role generally and specifically when working as a manager in a care home.

I offer a neutral safe space to be heard, listened to and understood in a non-judgmental way.

I adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

“Growth occurs when individuals confront problems, struggle to master them, and through that struggle develop new aspects of their skills, capacities, views about life.”

- Rogers
